We're delighted to share our two charity partners for the 2019 Festival, for which we raised £7,159 throughout the month.
All money raised throughout the Festival for FBB will directly support programmes that utilise the power of football to inspire girls from disadvantaged communities to achieve their goals and make their voices heard. FBB’s girls programme is an essential part of promoting the liberation of girls and women both on the football pitch and in society at large. The Girls’ Programme in particular exists to support girls at school with their journey through adolescence, introduce them to the beautiful game, provide them with a platform to express themselves creatively in the classroom and on the pitch, and support their emotional health and personal development.
Money raised for AKT will go towards supporting their vital work in tackling LGBTQ+ homelessness and supporting LGBTQ+ homeless youth. Focused on prevention and early action, AKT provides: safe homes, mentoring, training, advocacy and support to young people who are homeless or living in a hostile environment after coming out to their parents, caregivers and peers. In 2017, the charity provided 6075 nights of safe accommodation. Nationally, the charity has an online support service, and regionally provides service centres with a range of support from homes, mentoring and training.
We would also like to thank the following partners and individuals for their support during our 2019 programme:
